Bristol

  • The links between Bristol and street art scarcely need to be stated. It is, of course, the city that gave the world its most famous graffiti artist. But it runs far deeper than that. Art, and street art in particular, courses through Bristol’s veins - it is part of the city’s DNA. It is a city that is adorned with beautiful pieces created by both locally and nationally and internationally-renowned street artists. Bedminster, in the south of the city, hosts Upfest, the largest urban art festival in Europe. The pieces featured on this page are predominantly from Bedminster, Stokes Croft (the city’s creative arts hub), St Pauls, and Nelson Street in the city centre (where Inkie’s “See No Evil” festivals were held in 2011 and 2012).

Award-winning and, from personal experience, highly recommended street art tours of the city are run by the excellent Where The Wall (www.wherethewall.com)
